This fabric is lightweight, and ideal for dressmaking as it offers the great qualities of breath-ability of cotton, is a dream to sew with and to wear. Paired with a silken feel this fabric has a soft lustre that catches the eye, a result of the tight sateen weave. 

Cotton is a perfect material for dressmaking especially if you are a beginner as it does not shift when handling and is easy to cut and sew.
